Yay! Get excited about beating a crippled team.

Congrats to the Steelers. Enjoy the one extra week that you get to play.

And Chad Johnson caught that ball before he fumbled it. That was a silly reversal... it was nowhere near conclusive.

Anyway, it just goes to show that we have some serious holes to plug before we contend for a championship.

I'm bitter now, but I'm pretty sure we'll go 2-0 against the Steelers next year.

For the first time in my life, I'm a Colts fan.

If Ben Roethlisberger goes down on the second play of the game and Tommy Maddux plays four quarters, the Bengals win by 3 TD's.

No excuses for losing, but the Steelers should feel lucky - not cocky. And all that talking they did after the game is going to cost them next year, which they might as well start looking forward to now - next week is it for them.

Here's hoping that Peyton lights them up like a Christmas tree.

  4. Bring out your excuses! All excuses can be dropped off here! I love to hear, "No excuses" surrounded by excuses. I had a friend in grade school who would say stuff like, "I'm not being mean, but he's really stupid" as if saying that beforehand changes the reality of what he was about to say. It's also odd that I never hear about the uncalled holds that I saw the Bengal's make...or when the cornerback grabbed a handfull of jersey...those were ok. That's just football. And it's odd that ,with Carson Palmer playing, that they would have suddenly beaten the same team that beat them the last time they played in Cincinnati (also to beat the team that was favored to win) by 3 touchdowns. Really? That's what would have suddenly happened with the quarterback with zero playoff games under his belt? They would have done something they hadn't done all year??? "Yeah, and then they would have broken the all time record for rushing yards, and kicked the longest field goal, and broken the world record in the 100 yard dash....if Carson would have played." So injuries aren't a part of football?
Well...yeah, but we should have won.
You would have dominated the team that scored 31 points on your first string defense even though they were just running down the clock?
    Ummmmm....well....
I just hope I'm not all about the excuses in the next couple of weeks if the Steelers lose one...and it's just football (I should mention that)

  6. Typical Steelers fan.

All I heard was Steeler fans talking about Ben being injured earlier in the season. That was your excuse for struggling and losing the division. Now the tables have turned and suddenly Steeler fans are too good for excuses.

    Typical Steelers fan.

What would the Bengals have done with Carson? Look at the second play of the game! 65 yards over the top of your weak secondary. Kitna can't throw that ball, but Palmer would have LIT YOU UP ALL DAY LONG. The proof is in the one play we got to see before your dirty Steeler players took out our star quarterback on a cheap shot.

    Typical Steelers fan.

Can't see the big picture. Celebrate now, because we own this division from this point forward. And we'll remember this - Ben better watch his back.

    Typical Steelers fan.

Good luck next week. Maybe you can send a thug to take out Peyton's leg and you can cheat your way to another win.

    Ahhh...that feels better...see you tomorrow night! :)

  7. Every conversation I have with a Bengal's fan:
    "Who Dey!"
"You think they'll win this week?"
    "We'll probably lose...but it's been a great year."
    31-17
"We were robbed! Wait 'til next year! This will be OUR year!"
"You were robbed? He's a thug? Every play by play guy said it was clean, the coach and player said it was clean, everyone who has ever played football or knows more than you learn playing xbox said it was clean...but he's a goon?"
"Ummm....well, just wait 'til next year! We're going to be awesome!"
You guys would be the World Champions of Wait 'til next year...

Just for the record, there were no excuses listed in my post.

I didn't say that the Bengals would have won by 3 TDs if Carson played. I said that they'd win by 3 TDs if Maddux played.

If Carson would've played the whole game, I think that the Bengals probably would have lost by a TD or so. I picked the Steelers before the game started, for exactly the reasons you listed: experience at the QB position, a pathetic defense that gave up 31 ppg for the last 8 games of the season, and a Steelers team that knows how to win in the playoffs.

I think that you anticipated hearing all those things that you listed and read them into my post, even though they weren't there. Maybe you're looking for an opportunity to debunk excuses?

I made no excuses and made no statements about what would have happened if Palmer hadn't gotten hurt.

I never said that we should've won.

All I said was that the Steelers would do well to not act like they proved some point yesterday. They won a game against a team that they should beat 6 times out of 10.

I'm not trying to nit-pick, but you've got to pay attention to the details. ;)

Sounds like you're a bit frustrated living in a city that roots for a team other than yours.

I understand that it's obnoxious to hear people say that the hit was intentional when it almost certainly wasn't, but cut us some slack - it was pretty hard to watch that happen.

Honestly, you have to admit that, to go 15 years without a playoff game, and then have your stud go down like that on the second play is pretty rough. Give us a couple days... we'll come to our senses soon enough.

It's not like we're going to be complaining about it 30 years later, like the immaculate reception/deception.

As for "Ben better watch his back", I hope that the first Bengal player to take a cheap shot on Big Ben gets cut from the team.

I will say, though, that I think that Big Ben is kind of a sissy for the way he acted after getting hurt when Odell hit him eariler this year. It was kind of funny when even Marvin Lewis said so after the game yesterday.

Okay... off to more productive endeavors.

    couldn't resist one more...

in case any bengals fans need cheering up, remember this:

The Bengals lost and Carson Palmer is now ruined for life, but at least this isn't you or your kid:

  12. i agree that there shouldn't be any excuses. bengals lost steelers won. after carson went down it was over. we're not a playoff contender without him. neither are the steelers without roethlisberger but that's not what happened. you have to play with the cards you're dealt, and we did and we lost.
but i will never stop saying who dey. just like steeler fans will never stop waving their towels, green bay fans will never stop wearing cheese on their head, and there will always be redskins fans dressed in dresses with pig snouts. it may seem cheesy to you but aren't all these things part of the game too? i think so. so who dey, and i can't wait for a rematch.

  13. remember, there are ignorant fans for every team so don't let the ignorant bengal fans get to you. it sounds like you think all bengal fans make cheap excuses.

Just thought of another thing to cheer us up:

Remember that time when we were in the playoffs and we had to put Jon Kitna in? and then the Steelers pressured him on every play and he could never find an open man? and then he started running around like some kind of monkey on crack? and then he knocked the ball out of his own hands?

Come on... as much as it stunk at the time, it was pretty darn funny if you look back at it.
