  1. I'll go ahead and comment since I can't really do that on the poll. I know Bill Cosby should be on the list -but I just can't get that into his stuff anymore. Woody Allen was a genius on stage, and about 7 people remember that. Dennis Miller's Off White Album is the single greatest comedy album of all time.

I put Richard Pryor on the list because he's the one all the comedians would put up there.
I put Mitch Hedburg up there because I think of him as the Roberto Clemente - could have been the best of all time.
Only he didn't exactly die while trying to save lives on a humanitarian mission...

  2. Where is Eddie Murphy? All his movies suck now because he sold out, but his stand up from the 80s was classic.

Dennis Miller? Are you kidding me? And no George Carlin?

My vote is for Eddie Murphy...Pryor and he set the stage for guys like Chris Rock, Dave Chapell, and others.

  3. richard pryor is definitely the greatest on the list. mitch is my favorite to listen to because he's hilarious and his stuff isn't that dirty. eddie murphy's delirious and raw are the funniest things i've ever seen in my life. but i don't watch them anymore because they're too... "raw" and "delirious."

    and g.i. joe got stuck...

I know Brian Regan isn't the funniest of ALL time so I don't know why I said anything and he is no Sags or Gallagher or Mark Lowry but he makes me laugh.

  7. Murph and anyone else,

Who is the greatest comedian currently doing stand-up?

  8. I like Dane Cook, Gary Gulman, Brian Regan's latest video is great (the first ten minutes especially)
    Dan Natterman is solid
    Mike Birbiglia's pretty good
    David Cross
    Jim Gaffigan
    Zack Galifinakis
    Jake Johannsen

  9. 1) I do not find female comedians funny. The best female going right now is Lisa Lampanelli, but she is VERY dirty. Sarah Silverman is getting a lot of publicity, but she is all about shock value.

    2) There are a lot of current guys that could be great - Murph mentioned Dane Cook and others. I loved Mitch Hedberg, but alas, he is no more. I think the best guy going is Jim Gaffigan. He is funny and almost entirely clean (which doesn't matter, but it's nice to have someone that doesn't have to curse to get a laugh). I am a huge Chris Rock fan because I think he has a lot of wisdom in his comedy (I'm serious).

  10. Mitch Hedberg FTW, easily, no one makes me laugh listening to the same material over and over again.

"I bought a donut and the guy gave me a receipt for the donut. I don't need a receipt for the donut, I give you the money, you give me the donut, end of transaction. We do not need to bring ink and paper into this. I cannot imagine the scenario where I would have to prove that I bought a donut. Some skeptical friend... don't even act like I didn't get that donut. I got the documentation right here."

    never ever gets old.

  12. Wayne Brady... sometimes the comedy just writes itself.

I like Daniel Tosh, Gaffigan, Gulman, David Cross (when he shies away from politics, which is basically never)

Carlos Mencia is the absolute unfunniest man on television... how does this guy still have a show?

  13. I keep hearing people tell me they couldn't vote in the poll. Two people at work tried to pull it up on their computers, but it just had the results.

I'm wondering how I screwed up my first ever poll?

any geeks out there figure this one out?
